Success for Streets Alive!

What a great weekend we had! The Peter Street art block was alive with artists, music, children’s activities, comedy, clowns, bubbles and high spirits as the community took in the inaugural Streets Alive! event. Enthusiasm and appreciation for the event and the opportunity to see the artists work and talk to them were in evidence throughout the weekend — a sunny, warm, golden Saturday and a cooler, rainy but still thrilling Sunday.

Over 400 people voted in the People’s Choice selection of the top four artists on Sunday afternoon. The prize-winning artists are:
1st – Steph Dunn: winning $1,500
2nd – Kathy Godfrey: winning $1,000
3rd – Brian Tosh: winning $750
4th – Todd Sullivan: winning $500

Several other talented artists also participated and helped the city celebrate art. They are:
Ainsley Munro
Amy Maree Jarvis
Heather Hauck
John Ross
Sedona Parnham
Shayne Hounsome
Trish Burke.

All our artists were profiled in the June 6/09 Orillia Packet & Times: http://www.orilliapacket.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1601304

Thanks everyone, participants and spectators alike, for making Streets Alive! an incredible success!
