
A Step-by-Step Guide to the Streets Alive! Banner Painting for Artists:
•Entry information and design submission must be completed on the entry forms.
•Entry forms must be received by April 30, 2009.
•A jury will select 12 designs from the entries.
•The artists of these 12 designs will be notified by May 15, 2009.
•Each artist will paint his or her design onto a 3′ x 6′ banner, provided, during the June 6-7 Streets Alive! weekend.
•Painting will be done outdoors, live in the streets, as a rain-or-shine event. Sheltered paint areas will be provided as needed.
•The banners are constructed of 23-oz. treated vinyl with stitched 2″ top and bottom sleeves.
•The banners will be painted on wooden easels, using exterior latex paint — all provided.
•Painting will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, and from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, June 7.
•The public will vote on the finished banners between noon and 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 7.
•From the tallied public votes, the top four artists will win the following ‘People’s Choice’ prizes (to be awarded at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 7):
1st: $1,500 2nd: $1,000 3rd: $750 4th: $500
